Adore Beauty Email Design – Personal Project
This project started with an idea instead of a brief. I’d been seeing the calendar screenshot with graphics and photos relating to the calendar event pasted in messily on socials, and I thought it would make the perfect hero section of an EDM to tap into the trend. Once I had the concept, Adore Beauty felt like the right fit. The Adore Beauty customer knows what’s trending online, and appreciates creative formats that don’t feel like another marketing spam email.

"The strategy stays the same for all my designs: meet the customer where they already are.. "
"My strategy was simple: storytelling first, selling second."

The brief I set myself: a self-care campaign made by someone who genuinely understands and enjoys a night in.
It’s speaking to the hard-working women who have had busy weeks, and all they want to do is kick their heels off and enjoy some Uber Eats and Netflix. The product shots in the graphic are stocked by Adore Beauty, but not in an obviously salesy way. It’s setting the tone that every woman knows and loves: quality self-care time. So by the time the user scrolls to the copy, the feeling is already established.
The strategy stays the same for all my designs: meet the customer where they already are. The trend was already creating that feeling of permission to slow down and take care of yourself. The email just gives it somewhere to shop.
This project gave me room to be playful and tap into a fun trend in a way that my current role doesn’t allow, and is exactly the kind of work I want to be doing more of.
